We are excited to announce that Postful has been acquired by Click2Mail, a leading provider of online print and mail services. Postful’s product line can now be found at Click2Mail.com, where you will also find far more product options, comprehensive live customer support, and an extensive nationwide print network.

While Postful will be shutting down on May 27, 2011, we have worked with Click2Mail to make the transition as smooth as possible for our existing customers.  Click2Mail has already incorporated the best of Postful’s email interface into the powerful Click2Mail print and mail management system with their Click2Mail Email-to-Mail service, and if you’ve looked for Postful’s postcards recently you already know about Click2Mail’s easy-to-send picture postcards.

To begin using Click2Mail.com all you need to do is sign up for an account with Click2Mail then email Postful customer support (support@postful-inc.com) with your primary Postful email address and your new Click2Mail username. We’ll handle transferring your balance.

Please note that your Postful mailboxes and order history will not be transferred. If you need access to this information, you can log in to your Postful account until May 27.

We greatly appreciate your past use of Postful and look forward to continuing to serve you as a part of Click2Mail. If you have any questions or need help, please contact us at support@postful-inc.com and we’ll be glad to help in any way possible.

2008, We’ll Miss You

December 31, 2008

It’s the season of year-end retrospectives.  This is the time when blogs across the web are filled with reminiscences, thoughts of the year past, and the realization that they haven’t posted anything for several months and really should.

At Postful, it’s been a busy year.  We came out of beta at the Office 2.0 conference in September.  We added postcards to complement our existing letter offering.  We’ve released a major new version of our API.  Through it all, we’ve continued to add new users and find that we’re being used in new and unexpected ways.

Thanks for a great 2008, loyal Postfulites (Fun Fact: historically, the Posfulites were residents of the Posful valley in modern Iraq.   They were wiped out by the Akkadian empire over four thousand years ago).  We’re looking forward to an even brighter 2009.

It’s taken quite some time, but we have finally launched the Postful closed beta! Right now most of you are probably asking how you can be a part of this? (The rest of you are probably wondering what the heck is Postful or is dark energy real)

I’m assuming those of you still reading want to be a part of the beta. Here’s where it gets easy. Just write me a letter at feedback [at] postful-inc.com and I’ll send you an invite to the the beta. We will be capping this, so get in now.

Now let’s say your feed reader is broken and you don’t get this announcement in time. Don’t worry. We’ll be periodically opening new slots in the beta. Send me a message and chances are I can get you in. And if you come up with a new use for Postful, I’ll send you an invite on the spot.

Also, we’ll be giving current users the ability to invite others to join. So, if one of your friends is taunting you with how incredible Postful is, hold your spleen until after they send you an invite.

With Postful you’ll never have to look for another stamp or envelope. You won’t need to worry about wasting time at printing or going to the post office. And you can reconnect with friends and family who don’t use e-mail. We’re looking forward to seeing how you take advantage of us.

Sharing is caring

In spite of the bold start, we have failed to give this blog quite the attention it deserves. So, as the launch of our public beta approaches, I’m going to try to be a bit more regular about posting. Features will be announced, your cheers and complaints will receive a public forum, and the world will learn our name (cue up the music from Fame).

Hello world!

January 8, 2007

It is my great pleasure hereby to inaugurate the official Postful startup blog. May it bring many, many insightful posts and many, many visitors in the upcoming year.

Postful is a Los Angeles-based firm of diligent programmers lucubrating on this Friday night over code, coffee, and copy.

And in the upcoming weeks we promise that a reasonable degree of excitement (and a nifty product) will be revealed here.
